'Into The Fire' documentary release

'Into the Fire' is the first of five documentaries, directed by Academy Award winning director Orlando von Einsiedel, to be released for free by National Geographic this week

In an area of Iraq devastated by ISIS, Hana Khider leads an all-female team of Yazidi de-miners in their attempts to clear the land of mines and IEDs. Their job involves painstakingly searching for booby traps in bombed out buildings and fields, where one wrong move means certain death. Even though the devastations caused by ISIS are still evident and local people are still suffering, they are trying to forget the past and rebuild.

Hana works for the Mines Advisory Group, an organisation who are part of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, a coalition awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997.
